Arriva Bus and Coach raises £1,784 in aid of chosen charity
Last November Arriva Bus & Coach raised an incredible £1,784 in fundraising events for Kirkwood Hospice, the chosen charity for 2016.
Every year, staff put forward suggestions for nominated charities, with Kirkwood Hospice coming out top in the ballot in 2016.Whether it was holding a colourful charity day at the office with bake sales and raffles on offer, or taking on individual personal challenges, we found many different ways to show our support for the Hospice over the year.
Previous years have seen us take on challenges such as the Yorkshire Three Peaks and last year was no different with the team completing Kirkwood Hospice’s 5k Colour Rush as their big fundraising challenge of the year.
Kirkwood Hospice Community Fundraiser, Lyndsey Richardson, is honoured at the support from Arriva, and delighted at the amount raised.
She said: “We have really enjoyed working with the team at Arriva this year and we are so grateful for their generous donation which will fund approximately 90 hours of care here at Kirkwood.
“It’s been great to see all the team getting involved in the various fundraising initiatives. We would like to thank everyone for their efforts and we hope to continue working together in the future”.
